Development company, Habitat First Group is planning to build a multi-million pound holiday village in North Devon by 2020, including a 40-bed hotel with spa and 150 cabins, creating 77 jobs.
The masterplan for the proposed Birchwood Lakes development at Venn Quarry, between Bishops Tawton and Landkey, has been submitted to North Devon Council.
Habitat said the scheme could be a key economic driver for the North Devon economy and an estimated £3.9m-a-year could be pumped into the local economy by visitors spending in the region.
