Revamped Gidea Park pub set to reopen following £510k Punch investment

The Drill in Gidea Park, near Romford will be reopening on 2 November after Punch Taverns invested £510k into the business.

The pub, which closed in late August, is being transformed into a “food-led, family friendly venue”, bringing 10 new jobs to the area.

Emma Tym will be The Drill’s new publican and is set to target a “broader range of customers”. Tym has eight years experience in the pub and hospitality industry but this will be the first pub she takes charge of.

Openings manager for Punch, Samantha Ward, said, “The Drill is ideally located on a busy section of Brentwood Road and is set to get a new lease of life as Emma takes charge.'
