The Lucky Onion reveals new supper club series

The Lucky Onion, the Cotswold-based family of hotels and restaurants and recent winners of Luxury Travel Guide Awards 2017, have announced another exciting season of events for the beginning of 2017, as part of the ‘The Lucky Onion Club presents’ series.

Following on from this year’s successful supper clubs from the likes of Russell Norman, Pierre Koffmann, Fergus Henderson and Hemsley & Hemsley, the next series promises more of the same eclectic yet esteemed talent throughout 2017.

The intimate events are presented family-style and hosted by the guest chef along with The Lucky Onion owners Sam and Georgie Pearman, who often continue the festivities well in to the evening. The idea behind the events is to bring together like-minded chefs and foodie influencers to work alongside the Lucky Onion's own kitchen staff, highlighting their passion for top quality food from local suppliers.

2017 will kick off with a celebration of the country’s best modern British cuisine from London award-winning private members club Quo Vadis. On 19 January, Jeremy Lee will host a supper at No. 38 The Park, showcasing his experience as head chef at this renowned London hot spot, and his wealth of experience at the critically-acclaimed Bibendum institutions Bibendum, Kensington Place, and Blueprint Cafe.

Lee will be crafting a show-stopping menu highlighting his passion for regional British food; which he showcases not only in his flavourful and seasonal dishes, but in his dedication to using local artisans and suppliers. A unique gastronomic experience from a figurehead in fine British cuisine, this is one not to be missed.

Neil Borthwick (pictured), head chef and co-owner of critically acclaimed East London restaurant Merchants Tavern, will be treating guests at No. 38 The Park to a divine seasonal supper on 23 February.

Alongside Borthwick, former Sunday Times recipe columnist Lucas Hollweg will be presenting a pre-supper talk on his renowned career, which encompasses his celebrated book, Good Things To Eat.

Seen as a pioneer of easy, laid-back yet delicious British food, this new cookbook has received wide spread praise, with the late A.A. Gill having described it as ‘...the best you’ll find in or on the English tongue.’ A discerning foodie evening of high quality fare and irrefutable gourmet knowledge.

To celebrate the start of the racing season at Cheltenham Racecourse, from 14 to 17 March, The Lucky Onion Club will host an unmissable offer at No. 38 The Park. ‘The Lucky Onion Club at No.38 The Races’ will start with a delightful pre-race breakfast on offer for residents and non-residents from 7am-1pm.

Following a day at the Cheltenham racecourse guests can enjoy champagne, beer and oysters at the Moet, Guinness and Oyster Bar in the courtyard. To finish off, guests can then delve into a delicious feast style supper, before collapsing into bed at the award-winning boutique hotel.

On 13 April, The Chequers will welcome the king of meat, Richard Turner, who will be returning to The Lucky Onion Club to host an unforgettable feast in collaboration with his newest book ‘Prime’.

This former Hawksmoor and Pitt Cue Co. owner is a champion of the meat scene in London, with unrivalled experience in supplying top quality British rare breed meat, as well as being co-owner of independent butchers Tuner & George, and setting up Meatopia festival in the UK.

Turner is, without a doubt, the ultimate meat man, with expertise in breeds, breeding, rearing and butchery. This supper club is an unmissable event for a unique experience in understanding the art of the meat industry, while also enjoying deftly crafted dishes, where meat takes centre stage.

One of the most prominent British chefs in the UK’s restaurant scene, Duck and Waffle’s Dan Doherty, will be demonstrating his experimental and Michelin-starred crafted cuisine at an exclusive supper club at No. 38 The Park on 13 May.

This highly anticipated event will see a revolutionary young chef display his playful homage to British cookery in a three-course supper. Dan is author of the highly-celebrated cookbook ‘Duck & Waffle: Recipe and Stories’ and this occasion will be an unparalleled insight into London’s everchanging high-end restaurant scene.
