Carluccios celebrates former waiter X-Factor win

Carluccio’s ‘Team Terry’ is still celebrating after the former Carluccio’s waiter was crowned the winner at The X Factor final on Sunday night. Matt Terry was still working at Carluccio’s Bromley when he auditioned for the show and had to keep his progress a secret from his colleagues.

The X Factor finalist returned to Carluccio’s Bromley last Wednesday as part of his homecoming tour and was greeted at the restaurant entrance by friends, family and former colleagues, as well as Antonio Carluccio himself.

Madga Nastasi, general manager of Carluccio’s Bromley, said: “The entire team here at Carluccio’s Bromley is so proud of how much Matt has achieved in such a short time, as well as how grounded he’s been about the entire experience.”

Neil Wickers, CEO of Carluccio’s, commented, ' Recruiting and nurturing talent has been at the centre of the Carluccio’s training academy since its launch. Matt was highly-regarded by the team at Bromley for his charisma and commitment to providing first-class customer service. He has our ongoing support for his musical career and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that he gets the Christmas number 1 single.”

Carluccio’s currently employs over 3,000 people across an estate of more than 100 restaurants, reporting a UK turnover of £137.8m (year ending September 2015).
