New look Grimsby hospital restaurant offers healthy on-the-go menu

Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby has revealed a new look restaurant as part of its refreshed food offering. The refurb includes a food court style dining area which offers healthy options designed for life on-the-go.

Refurbishment at the hospital has been in progress since October when leading contract caterer Elior UK took over as part of a 15-year deal with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

The new restaurant offers freshly prepared sandwiches, salads, fruit and snack pots from Elior’s Essential Grab and Go range, which includes more than 1,000 dietitian approved recipes. Other healthy options include crisp alternatives like Hippeas (organic chickpea puffs) and a range of sparkling waters, flavoured on site with fresh fruits.

Jug Johal, director of estates & facilities at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, said, “The new look and feel is a strong visual reminder of the transformation here since Elior came on board. Now patients, visitors and staff can quickly grab a healthy lunch or snack without stepping foot off the site. We’re delighted with what Elior has achieved in such a short space of time.”

Ruth Lomax, sales director at Elior, said, “The new restaurant is a real statement about the quality and breadth of offer Elior has delivered here at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital. Busy schedules can be a barrier to good eating habits, so the new offer is a great way to encourage healthy eating.”
