Malaysian group acquires Threadneedles Hotel for £9.9m

Malaysian group YTL Hotels has bought its fifth site in the UK, the Grade II-listed, luxury Threadneedles Hotel in London for £9.9m.

The 74-bed venue is the firm's second UK Autograph Collection hotel, joining The Glasshouse in Edinburgh, as well as The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, and Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, which will make its debut next month.

Threadneedles Hotel, which features Marco Pierre White Wheeler's of St. James's Oyster Bar & Grill Room, formed a franchise affiliation with the Autograph Collection by Marriott International in 2013.

YTL Hotels said that under the new ownership and the group’s decades-long relationship with Marriott International, the hotel would continue to set the benchmark in best of class standards.
