New cafe opens at Gwent adult education centre

A new cafe has been opened by Natasha Maddison-Herbert within the Torfaen County Borough Council's (TCBC) Power Station building in Cwmbran, Gwent.

Tasha's Tea Room is open to users of the adult education centre and members of the public on a daily basis and serves a variety of tea and coffee, cakes, hot and cold rolls.

Maddison-Herbert comes from a catering background, lives locally and is well known in the community.

Adult Essential Skills and Centre Manager, Linda Bailey spoke of how pleased Torfaen Adult & Community Learning were that the cafe had reopened, and also about the passion and drive that Maddison-Herbert has in running the venue for the use of the whole community.

Richard Murphy, Enterprise Promotion officer for TCBC, said, 'Working with Tasha has been an absolute pleasure. Her desire to start her own business has been there from the start. Her nature is that of a hard working person who wants to succeed and everyone involved wishes her all the best for her journey running this very promising enterprise.'

Mayor, Councillor Veronica Crick (pictured left) welcomed the opening of the facility and wished the business a successful future.

The venture was coordinated and supported by Communities First and Torfaen Adult Education.
