Masseria Group opens first central London eatery

Masseria Group’s Food Store, a casual dining café, deli and juice bar, has opened today on Irving Street in Soho, serving international favourites influenced by worldwide culinary flavours.

Open daily from 8am, Food Store is set to transform the area’s fast food offerings with a wonderfully diverse range of premium produce and a strong focus on healthy offerings.

Following the success of Queen’s Park neighborhood favourite, The Salusbury Food Store, this new Food Store signals Masseria Group’s first venture into central London, with a view to recreating its original local appeal and convivial atmosphere, suited for a range of purposes.

Available to eat in or take away, the relaxed eatery has a daily-changing menu serving nutritious and substantial food from breakfasts through to desserts and everything in between. Highlights from the breakfast menu will be their signature ‘Breakfast Brioche Bun’ available with smoked salmon and avocado smash, crispy bacon and goats cheese or Cumberland sausage and egg fillings.

Other highlights include bold and hearty soups, pastas of the day, and main course dishes rotating on a daily basis. The ‘Carribean Salmon Fillet’ (with mixed peppers salad in a lime & coriander olive oil dressing), ‘Moroccan Lamb Tagine’ (with dates, prunes, apricots, almonds & raisins with couscous), and ‘Brazilian Feijoada’ (pork, chorizo & bacon stew with black beans) main courses showcase their international influence with all dishes cooked in 100% pure cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from Italy.

An array of flavoursome international salads, available in three sizes, feature ‘Wholefood Salad’ (rice, quinoa, edamame beans, red cabbage, kale, pumpkin seeds, pineapple, grape), ‘Greek Chickpea Salad’ (chickpeas, mixed peppers, paprika, lemon yogurt dressing), and ‘Tomato, Melon & Chilli’ (mixed tomatoes, watermelon, red chill, sunflower seeds, basil olive oil dressing). Opt for the ‘lunch box’ upgrade for a salad with a choice of fish, chicken or arancini.

In addition to rotating daily specials, Food Store’s counter includes wholesome choices with pizza slices, lasagna, chicken escalope and panini as well as freshly baked pastries, cakes and treat available all day.

A fresh juice bar serves a diverse range of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies made to order including popular ‘Raw Power’ (protein powder, banana, blueberry, almond butter, coconut water, chia seeds) and ‘Tropi-Kale’ (kale, mango, pineapple, ginger, lime, almond milk, vanilla protein powder), as well as aptly-named ‘Pome-Great’ (pomegranate, carrot, celery, ginger) and ‘Chill Beets’ (grapefruit, apple, beetroot, carrot, celery, cucumber, lime chilli). Coffee lovers can rest easy with specialist baristas brewing aromatic hand roasted Union beans all day long.

Guests are welcome to dine in with a number of seats available out the back of the store; the crisp white interiors with lively artwork radiates a residential warmth with a contemporary London feel. Those wanting to grab and go, can ponder their decision whilst taking in the colourful display of daily specials at the glass counter.

Food Store is the latest addition to the Masseria Group portfolio of delicatessens, gastropubs, wine stores, and restaurants, which include The Salusbury, The Chamberlayne, The Salusbury Winestore, The Salusbury Food Store, Ostuni Queen’s Park, Ostuni Highgate and Messapica.
