The Science Museum Group has announcde that Ben Lheureux has been promoted to the role of Head of Events and Catering across the group’s five sites (Science Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, National Railway Museum in York, National Media Museum in Bradford and National Railway Museum in Shildon).

Additionally, Kylie Dey has been promoted from Events Operations Executive to Event Operations Manager at the Science Museum.

Lheureux (pictured) has worked in the events and catering industry since 2002 and joined the Science Museum in 2011 as Event Operations Manager before taking on the role of Group Event Operations Manager in 2015. In his new role, Lheureux is responsible for putting the strategy in place for the corporate events teams and public catering offer across all five museums; contractual relationships and tenders; refurbishment and development projects; as well as representing the enterprises in various senior team meetings.

Lheureux’s new job role will create greater synergy between the private revenue stream and public nature of the museums, demonstrating the importance of events in the overall direction of the museum.

He said, “I am hugely privileged to be working for such an ambitious and forward thinking group of world-leading museums and with brilliant and passionate teams. As Event Operations Manager at the Science Museum, Kylie Dey will be responsible for managing, motivating and developing the team to deliver outstanding events; develop and maintain effective contractor relationships; and maximise the profitability of events and corporate hire. Kylie has worked at the Science Museum since 2015, with previous experience at LOCOG and English Heritage.

Michelle Lockhart, Commercial Director at Science Museum Group, said, “We are delighted to announce both Ben and Kylie’s promotions. Ben has played an integral part in growing the corporate events side of the business, and working with his team to put on some truly spectacular events.
