Levy Restaurants opens new restaurant & revamped cafe at Twycross Zoo

Levy Restaurants UK, the official catering partner to Twycross Zoo, has unveiled a brand new restaurant, and a new look cafe in time for the Easter break. For the first time, visitors can enjoy a full table service restaurant at the zoo. The openings follow the recent announcement of a new 10 year catering partnership.

Twycross Zoo, a renowned primate centre based in Warwickshire, welcomes over half a million visitors each year and the new Vine Cafe and The View Restaurant will deliver a modern vision of leisure catering, with a focus on family sharing and high quality, fun and nutritional meals.

Early morning visitors can enjoy a flavoursome breakfast of grilled sourdough toast which comes with a choice of poached free range egg, crispy smoked bacon and homemade baked beans or smashed avocado, chilli, parsley and slow roasted tomatoes or cheesy rarebit, chives and free-range egg.

All day dining options are available at The View Restaurant including classics from the kitchen and grill such as beer battered fish and chips and char-grilled chicken salad. Pastas and pizzas freshly made to order, using traditional Neapolitan recipes, will also be on offer.

Kids visiting the Zoo are now able to tuck into a range of homemade hot dishes, such as mini steak sliders and spaghetti Bolognese (£7.00 for 3-course kid's meal, including a drink), as well as a pick and mix offer that includes a selection of sandwiches, snacks, fruit and a special treat, all for £4.95.

Both The Vine Café and The View Restaurant are also serving favourites from Costa Coffee alongside a range of hot and cold drinks, while an in-house baker will be cooking up a range of house toasties on ciabatta and focaccia breads.

A key focus has been placed on sustainability, with only free range eggs sourced from Oakland Farm in Shropshire, fair trade bananas and sustainably sourced fish available across the Zoo.

Jon Davies, Managing Director, Leisure at Levy Restaurants UK, said, “The opening of The View Restaurant and The Vine Café showcases our commitment to providing visitors with a range of food and drink outlets that reflect the best of high street trends. By bringing together both cooked to order and grab and go options, families visiting Twycross Zoo will be able to enjoy a wider choice as well as benefit from locally sourced, seasonal and nutritious meals.”

Dr Sharon Redrobe, Chief Executive Officer at Twycross Zoo, said, “Since we started working with Levy Restaurants UK, we have been receiving extremely positive feedback from our visitors and staff alike. The opening of the new Vine Café and The View Restaurant is very exciting and we strongly believe that our Himalaya Centre will now provide an even better visitor experience.”
