Farmer Copley’s set for turnover uplift after £1.2m restaurant-cafe opening

Pontefract farm attraction and shop, Farmer Copley’s is on track to achieve a rise in turnover to £3m this year following the opening of a £1.2m restaurant and cafe, with private function rooms.

Since opening in last October, the new venue has helped visitor numbers soar by 50% compared with the previous year.

The new 157-cover eatery, which has created 20 jobs, is Moo Cafe by day and turns into Beast restaurant by night.

Moo Cafe offers breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Beverages include a range of hot and cold drinks, including milk shakes, plus wine and beer.

The starters for Beast range from Scallops, Pulled Pork and Roast Chestnut Fritters with pea puree, to Yorkshire Chicken and Ham Terrine with Yorkshire piccalilli and homemade bread.

For mains there's Grilled Seabass Fillet or Duo of Lamb, Braised and Rump with creamy garlic potatoes and minted peas. There's also the steak menu with a selection of 28 day matured Sirloin, Ribeye or Fillets.

For sweet treats there's a choice of a sharing plate for two that includes Gingerbread Treacle Tart, Chocolate Brownie with Peanuts, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. There’s also a cheese board.

Beast is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm, and every Sunday from 4:30pm for a Farmhouse Kitchen Table Roast.
