Department of Coffee and Social Affairs is to open in Faulkner House, New York Street, Manchester, marking the company’s 16th coffee shop in the UK.
Launching this summer, the 3,000 sq ft coffee shop will be the company’s first location in the North of England, and their second outside of the capital and the Company’s largest to date.
In addition to serving single-origin speciality coffee and a selection of artisan cakes and food, Department of Coffee and Social Affairs is and has been heavily involved in large-scale humanitarian work in the UK and abroad as highlighted in the company’s Social Impact Report for 2017 which is available to pick up across all of their coffee shops.
Located in close proximity to several large offices, Department of Coffee and Social Affairs will benefit from the area’s high population of workers looking for an informal meeting space or lunch option, as well as the busy BIMM music school situated opposite.

The announcement follows the recent news that Bruntwood has signed Five Guys, Loungers and the Co-op at University Green, which is part of the University of Manchester’s £1bn Campus Master plan and redevelopment.
