The Ugly Dumplings set to open perm W1 site


Anglo-Chinese dumpling and noodle street food brand, The Ugly Dumplings, is opening a permanent site just off London's Carnaby Street at the end of June or the start of July.

Co-founder Ping Wong has confirmed that the top five favourite dumplings from his street food markets will definitely be on the menu, which aromatic duck, prawn & chive, pork belly, satay chicken and spinach & tofu.

Wong's noodles will also be on the menu as sides, and he will introduce some new side options, including salads. Additionally, he wants to introduce a soup option.

In the new site, Wong will be exploring the more global side of dumplings and will use fresh seasonal local ingredients to build new recipes.

Taking into account as allergies, intolerances and dietary choices, Wong already has a vegan choice, spinach & tofu dumplings, and he's already researching gluten-free options for the dough.

For beverages, there will be alcoholic and virgin cocktails, a small selection of wine and beers, as well as soft drinks, teas and coffee.

The Ugly Dumplings, which will be situated on Newburgh Street, will also have a takeaway option.
