Restaurateur Will Smith opens bistro in Scotland

A new bistro, bar and wine shop from the brainchild of the founder of Michelin star London restaurants Wild Honey and Arbutus has opened in Helensburgh, Scotland.

Restaurateur Will Smith sold his restaurant interests in London last year and returned to Helensburgh where he previously managed The Georgian Room at Cameron House.

Smith has opened Sugar Boat on Colquhoun Square which has been renovated with a new kitchen and the interior features bare brick, brass finishes, wood panelled walls in addition to leather banquettes. The bistro also features seating on the square and courtyard terrace.

The menu, which promises to be regularly changing and use only the finest, seasonal local ingredients from Scotland, has been created with Head Chef Alexandria-born Scott Smith, who previously worked at Wild Honey and Arbutus.
