Street Eats Foods acquires Tasties of Chester facility

Newly formed Street Eats Foods has acquired one of the two sandwich factories of Deeside-based Tasties of Chester, which had fallen into administration, securing the future of 188 jobs.

The site produces sandwiches, toasties, salads and other food-to-go products, under the Street Food brand, servicing retailers, airlines and railway franchisees.

The firm then ran into cash flow issues following the opening of a second facility 18 months ago in Stockley, near Heathrow Airport.

The new site has been part of a plan to triple Tasties; manufacturing capacity and improve distribution links within the south of England.

The Heathrow site - where a £4m investment had been made by Tasties - was sold by the company to trade buyer Greencore prior to administrators being appointed.
