Chocolate House cafe in Islington launches Ice Cream Sundays

On Sunday 23 July, award-winning artisans Jaz & Jul’s will launch Ice Cream Sundays at their Chocolate House cafe in Islington’s Chapel Market.

Running from 4pm until late every other Sunday throughout the summer, the new feasting evenings will allow guests to enjoy an array of exclusive iced indulgences including decadent DIY sundaes and homemade gelato cookie sandwiches.

A grown-up twist on the children’s classic ice cream party, Jaz & Jul’s will also serve up boozy milkshakes and alcoholic versions of their much-loved chocolate-dipped gourmet ice lollies (pictured).

Visitors to the fortnightly Ice Cream Sundays at the Chocolate House will be able to create their own spectacular ice cream sundaes, choosing from a menu of limited edition flavours that have been produced by local gelato expert Nonna’s using Jaz & Jul's acclaimed proper drinking chocolates, such as Mintchievous, Raspberry Dream and the single-origin dark Madagascar 61%.

Partygoers can then pimp their preferred ice cream scoops at the DIY toppings station, piling their bowl high with as many tempting delights as they like from the wide selection on offer, ranging from the duo’s signature favourite chocolate brownie chunks and peanut butter cookie pieces, to marshmallows and pretzel bits, plus whipped coconut cream, chocolate sauce, crushed nuts and more.

There will be dairy-free gelato and sorbet options as well as vegan-friendly toppings for the bespoke sundaes, to help satisfy every sweet tooth.

Those looking to make the most of their weekend with something stronger can take their pick from cocoa-themed cocktails and chilled hardshakes made with Jaz & Jul’s renowned hand-made drinking chocolates and recommended organic liqueur pairing.

Co-founders Jasmine Kershaw and Juliet Sampson will also be offering special alcoholic Pina Colada and Mojito ice lollies at their Ice Cream Sundays event series, which join the lineup of unique natural flavours that are all made at the Chocolate House using fresh fruits and herbs and are available throughout the week, like Strawberry & Basil, Watermelon & Lime and the recently-introduced Chocolate & Avocado inspired by their popular brunch smoothie bowl.

The boozy gourmet iced pops will be hand-dipped in luxurious melted Madagascan 70% dark chocolate to order, then coated with a choice of authentic “sprinkles” like chopped pistachios, desiccated coconut flakes and crumbled dried raspberries, for a truly individual sweet treat.
