Lord’s to host exclusive culinary evening with Alfred Prasad

Lord’s Cricket Ground, owned by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), will host an exclusive evening of fine dining with renowned Michelin-starred chef Alfred Prasad on Wednesday 13 September.

The event will give guests a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with Prasad as he showcases his famous Indian cuisine, as well as an insight into what makes a successful menu.

The evening will include a Champagne reception and a specially curated, wine-paired Indian dining experience, with all food prepared by Alfred and his team within Pelham’s, the new contemporary dining experience at Lord’s.

As an added bonus, the evening will also include a Q&A session with Sri Lankan cricketing legend, Kumar Sangakkara, which will take place after the four-course dinner.

The evening will begin with a Champagne and canapé reception, before guests are escorted to Pelham’s, with its spectacular views of the hallowed turf. Each bespoke course will be introduced by Prasad, who will reveal his inspiration behind the creation of his unique dishes.

As the youngest Indian chef to be awarded a Michelin star, Prasad has been a key influence at Lord’s Cricket Ground, having worked closely with MCC since 2006. He has used his wealth of experience, knowledge and innovative ideas to assist with the creation of a fine dining menu offered to match day box hospitality guests.

James DeGroot, Head of Catering at Lord’s, commented, “We are very excited to welcome one of the country’s top chefs, Alfred Prasad, to Lord’s for this exclusive evening. Alfred has been a massive influence on Lord’s over the last eleven years and I know the evening will consist of the same delicious dishes for which he is renowned, with no doubt some surprises up his sleeve. It’s shaping up to be an excellent experience and we look forward to welcoming guests to this evening of culinary delights.

“The Q&A with the legendary cricketer Kumar Sangakkara will be the icing on the cake for this fantastic evening, and we look forward to a fascinating insight into his successful career.”

Alfred Prasad commented, “Being able to host an evening of fine dining at Lord’s is very exciting for me as it combines my two favourite passions – food and cricket! I have been working on the bespoke hospitality offering for a few years now and every year feels just as special as the last. It’s very exciting to be able to showcase my latest dishes and culinary creations at the Home of Cricket.”
