Neil Gill to open new concept fish & chip restaurant in Finsbury Park

Restaurateur Neil Gill (pictured) is set to open a new concept fish and chip restaurant in London’s Finsbury Park.

Gill, who opened his first restaurant Season Kitchen in 2010, will open Gilly’s Fry Bar on Clifton Terrace later this month.

The 35-cover venue has been inspired by the chip shops in Sunderland, where Gill grew up and the art of tempura cooking.

The menu will feature the fish and chip shop classics such as battered cod with scraps, battered sausage and pickled onions, in addition to Japanese inspired dishes including battered fish and vegetables and breadcrumbed tonkatsu-style pork and beef and chips served with a Japanese katsu curry sauce.
