Fragrance Group snaps up another two UK hotels

Adding to its acquisition last week of the £12.5m Townhouse hotel in Manchester, the Singapore-based Fragrance Group has now purchased two more UK hotels.

The company has added the 300-year-old Crown Hotel in Harrogate with 155 beds from a consortium of private investors for £7.2m.

Centrally located, The Crown is just a couple of minutes walk from Harrogate's most popular sites, such as Harrogate International Centre, Turkish Baths, Betty's Tea Rooms, and Valley Gardens.

A restaurant and bar area offers an extensive wine list and a wide variety of beers and spirits. There is also a second bar and breakfast room. Wherever possible, the hotel offers food sourced from local suppliers, including R&J Butchers, Class One for fruit and vegetables and Bellerby Dairy.

The second hotel is the Lyden with 141 bedrooms in Blackpool, bought from Deborah and Steven Dunn, for £5.25m.

Overlooking the Irish Sea, this hotel is a 12-minute walk from the South Pier and a 14-minute walk from Blackpool South train station.

There are to restaurants, three bars and two sea-view cabaret lounges offering dance or bingo sessions, as well as nightly entertainment. Other amenities include free wi-fi in public areas, a sun terrace and free parking.

Like the Townhouse hotel, the two latest acquisitions will also be managed by Bespoke Hotels.
