Rick Stein awarded CBE in New Years Honours list

Celebrity chef, restaurateur and television presenter, Rick Stein has been awarded a CBE for services to the economy in the Queen's New Year's Honours list 2018.

Stein said, 'I am so proud to receive a CBE... I think that the hospitality industry, that I so much enjoy working in, is a force for good not only in the UK but everywhere.

'To be able to travel the world as an Englishman, fascinated by the food and culture wherever I go and bringing it back home is a dream job, but also reinforces the importance of everyone sitting down and enjoying good food together.'

Stein owns four restaurants in Padstow, a fish and chip shop in Falmouth, and fish and chip shops in Porthleven and Newquay, all in Cornwall. He is also the co-owner of Rick Stein at Bannisters at Mollymook, New South Wales. Stein has written twenty-six cookery books and presented many television programmes for the BBC.
