FEI Foods is to open a 250,000 sq ft microwavable rice factory in Rhondda Cynon Taf in Wales, after securing a £19m funding facility from Lloyds Bank.
The Swansea-based manufacturer will create 70 jobs at the new plant at Llantrisant Business Park, which is set to open next year.
FEI Foods, which supplies own brand microwavable rice and grain products to supermarkets across the UK and Europe, has planned the new site due to increased demand for its quick cook products.
Moving to the new premises and investing in new machinery will double the company’s capacity. The increase in space will also enable the firm to boost investment in the research and development of new products.
