intu, the owner of many of the UK’s most popular retail and leisure destinations, has signed international frozen yogurt brand Tutti Frutti to intu Watford’s retail and leisure mix.
Founded in Southern California in 2008, Tutti Frutti is one of the world’s largest self-service frozen yogurt chains operating in countries including Australia, Canada and Malaysia, and is the latest brand to embrace the ‘free-from’ foods trend as it caters a selection of sorbets and yogurt without dairy, gluten and sugar.
Tony Mundella, franchise sales (UK) director for Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt, said, “We’re bringing a whole new experience for customers visiting intu Watford as they’re able to try our healthy recipes which includes over 100 flavours and toppings. With its high footfall and attractive offering, heightened by its leisure extension opening later this year, intu Watford is the perfect place for our shopping centre retail unit.”
Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director for intu, said, “Watford is home to some of the UK's largest head offices, with companies such as ASOS and TK Maxx headquartered here as well as the award-winning and most visited tourist attraction, Warner Bros Studio.
'As a result, we’re seeing more and more brands choose the centre for its key location and attractive retail offering. It’s great to see a healthy frozen yogurt brand choose the centre ahead of the opening of our new leisure extension.”
intu Watford is transforming the retail and leisure landscape and is set to elevate the town alongside Edinburgh and Bristol in CACI’s top 20 national retail destinations ranking. The 400,000 sq ft retail and leisure extension will host 14 new stores, 11 new restaurants and leisure activites that will cement the centre as a day through to evening destination. Over two thirds of the extension is now let with Cineworld and Hollywood Bowl among leisure brands to have already signed up for space.
