The Wynnstay Arms pub and hotel situated in Ruabon, Wrexham has reopened its doors and said 'croeso' to regulars and locals.
The substantial investment has transformed the Grade II-listed pub and given it back to the community, with the re-opening creating over 30 new jobs in the area.
Closing in October 2017, the pub’s refurbishment was one of the most significant in Robinsons’ recent history due to the scale of the project and the historic importance of the pub.
William Robinson, Managing Director (Pub Division) for Robinsons Brewery, said, “The Wynnstay Arms is a wonderful example of a pub at the heart of the community, and we wanted to make sure that the new refurbishment continued the rich history of this pub.”
The pub, which dates back to the late 18th century, was a former coaching inn which belonged to the Wynnstay Estate.
The new design incorporates a sympathetic nod to the rich history of the pub, whilst delivering an up-to-date fresh country house feel and design to the main trading areas.
The main trading area of the pub has been reconfigured dramatically with the bar servery slotted into the pub’s former main corridor. The public areas have been opened to allow a better customer flow with a new layout that has maintained a cosy feel centred around reclaimed open fires where guests can enjoy a pint of the finest beer or experience great food.
The new bar will continue to serve a rotating range of Robinsons’ award-winning cask ales along with premium lagers, including the local Wrexham Lager, craft beers, spirits, and wines.
Downstairs, the pub’s large function room, named by The Wynnstay Arms’ Facebook fans as ‘The Eagle Suite’ – a nod to the inn’s eagle signage and emblem – has been transformed with a contemporary look. The room, which can hold over 100 people, is already proving popular with bookings for weddings, funerals and celebrations filling up the diary, even before the pub reopened.
