Newcastle shipping container village launches


New shipping container village, Stack in Newcastle has just launched, with low-cost, low-energy, leisure, hospitality, workshops, offices and retail outlets.

From developer Danieli Holdings, the hub has been created from 50 shipping containers on the site of a former Odeon cinema.

Food-wise, visitors can expect to a wide variety of eateries including: Hatch 76, The Hungry Vegan, Cluck Cluck Moo, The Bake One, Eatali, Stixs, Texas Smoker, Lost and Found Pan Asian, Al Baik, Gills Fish & Chips, Sushi me Rollin, Beacon Burgers, and Los Cocos.

For drinks, there's a pop-up in the Plaza area, the Enchanted Garden, which stocks up to 40 different gins, as well as Coffee Yolo, Manhua Cha Bubble Tea, Havana Bar, Fourteen Drops, Yolo Bar, Barley & Me, and Heineken Bar.

Later on in the year, STACK will become home to Hadrian's Tipi and early next year it will see the arrival of a subzero ice bar named Antarctica.
