Heck plans £4m HQ expansion to expand markets

Heck Foods is planning to invest £4m in the expansion of its sausage manufacturing headquarters in North Yorkshire, with the creation of 60 jobs.

Heck creates chicken sausages, burgers and meatballs, as well as a range of veggie burgers, bangers and balls.

The expansion will increase capacity at the Kirklington facility by 25%, and will include the opening of an international mail order business.

The investment will see the launch into the German market of the Heckfurter, which is a healthier version of a frankfurter.

Heck Foods co-founder Jamie Keeble said, 'Despite all the doom and gloom about Brexit, we are proud to be a European family and friends business.

'We will be investing in more German machinery in our factory and can now get bangers to Berlin as fast as we can get sausages to Southampton. We are looking forward to taking our tasty range to kitchen tables across the continent.'
