Legoland submits themed hotel plans

Merlin Entertainment, the owners of the Legoland Windsor Resort, has submitted plans for a castle-themed hotel which will be built on the existing site of one of its rides.

Providing 61 ‘premium’ bedrooms, the hotel will be built across three-floors and will be connected to the existing Legoland Windsor hotel by a covered link walkway.

Other features of the 38,000 sq ft hotel extension will include its own lobby/reception area and restaurant/bar seating space. It is anticipated that the restaurant will serve breakfast and daytime drinks and snacks.

The extension will also feature an outdoor seating deck and play area on the southern side, overlooking the lake.

The application was submitted by Nathanial Lichfield & Partners and if approved, is expected to open in early 2017.
