Ellory opens in Hackney


Former Mayfields head chef Matthew Young has teamed up with sommelier Jack Lewens to open a restaurant in London's Hackney..

The new bistro, Ellory has just opened on the ground floor of Netil House, the creative suite next to London Fields.

Young, formerly of Spring and River Cafe restaurants, leads the kitchen at the 50-seat venue, which also has a separate bar.

There are options to drop in for single plates or enjoy a five course tasting menu. Main dishes include Scallops, citrus & anise, and Turbot, chestnuts & pumpkin, with puddings like Caramelised citrus with ginger ice cream.

Jack Lewens, who recently opened Skye Gingell’s Spring, has created an Old World wine list made up from about 50 wines with those from Italy, France and Spain dominating.
