SMWS to open first whisky bar to welcome non-members

Members of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) will have a new home from home in London, with the opening of its latest whisky bar, Kaleidoscope at Devonshire Square, on Friday 2 June.

The new venue is in the heart of the City, situated in a traditional warehouse two minutes’ walk from Liverpool Street station.

Following the success of Kaleidoscope at 28 Queen Street in Edinburgh, the whisky bar at Devonshire Square will be open to both members and non-members of the SMWS. The Society’s existing London home at 19 Greville Street will continue to operate for the exclusive use of SMWS members and their guests.

Kaleidoscope at Devonshire Square will stock an ever-changing selection of around 200 Society whiskies, as well as a special collection of 50 rare proprietary bottlings, currently being curated by whisky expert Dave Broom.

Member benefits at Kaleidoscope at Devonshire Square include access to a reserved members-only seating area, a 20 per cent discount on drinks, regular members-only tasting events, exclusive sampling sessions at The Ambassador’s Table. Members will also have access to rare whiskies from ‘The Classics Trolley’, a special range of whiskies bottled by the SMWS from a long-forgotten era.

Members will also be able to buy a selection of SMWS bottlings to take home from Kaleidoscope at Devonshire Square.
