H+J holds Xmas showcase at RSA House

The festive season came early for guests at the RSA House when leading London caterer H+J held a Christmas showcase at the venue last week.

Guests were given an exclusive taste of Christmas future at the showcase when the historic central London venue was transformed into a festive-themed space, complete with a dazzling dance floor, magic mirror and some photo booth fun. Over 50 event planners were inspired by the RSA House’s hidden gem, The Vaults, which was filled with all the festive must-haves to create the ultimate Christmas party to remember.

On arrival, guests were treated to some sparkling cocktails including Gingerbread Fizz and Black Cherry Bourbon. These were accompanied by Christmas-themed canapes including baked aubergine, feta, mint and pomegranate sesame paniers and turkey Chettinad curry cornet with coconut chutney.

A European market stall provided the main focal point for the evening and was brimming with Christmas delicacies from the region including a live-carved Serrano ham, cured meats and artisan cheeses. These were complemented by home-made chutneys, pickles, quince jelly, artisan breads and cheese straws.

A selection of imaginative bowl food did the rounds, which included hot smoked salmon, horseradish and dill mash with herb ketchup and venison and wild boar sausages, carrot and swede mash with parsley gravy.

White and milk chocolate truffle ‘baubles’ created a mouth-watering finale to the evening.

Nathan Jones, Director and Co-Founder of Harbour & Jones, which owns H+J, commented, “This Christmas showcase event was a huge success and the fantastic events team at the RSA House pulled out all the stops to create a sparkling evening at The Vaults, which really fired the imagination. The festive food was out of this world and I’m very proud of all the team’s efforts to make this a successful event.”
