Poundland in new partnership with Greencore for improved chilled offer


Poundland has today agreed a new partnership with Greencore foods to provide an improved chilled offer in its stores, which is now rolling out to its stores in the UK.

The new offer combines the best of its best-selling existing range of fresh items with a rolling offer of promotional and clearance items on guest appearance.

The new offer covers staples such as bread and milk alongside lunchtime options such as sandwiches and pies.

The move to Greencore comes after Poundland’s existing supplier entered administration earlier this month

Poundland’s rapid action to forge a new deal with Greencore will be welcomed by many of its suppliers who are already being re-contacted by Greencore under the new consolidation arrangements.

Chris Burns, FMCG trading controller at Poundland, said, “We’re pleased that we’ve been able to review our fresh offer for customers and put in place a new partnership to help a number of suppliers get access to our 7m customers each week.

While a small proportion of the overall Poundland format, its chilled offer is an important part of what customers expect in its stores.
