Bluebird Cafe & PetsPyjamas to launch charity Doggie Afternoon Tea

From Sunday 22 July, recently opened Bluebird Café, located in White City’s iconic Television Centre, will welcome guests and their four-legged friends to enjoy a very special afternoon tea.

Available every Sunday from 2.30pm – 5pm and in partnership with Europe’s number one destination dedicated to dog-welcoming holidays & travel – PetsPyjamas, the exclusive afternoon tea will offer something for humans and dogs so that the favourite British past time can be enjoyed just like tea at home.

The dog friendly restaurant will serve a puppy foodie dream boasting their very own vegan dog cookies, made with banana and vegan peanut butter and handmade by Head Chefs Simon Gregory & Prashant Patil. Lily’s Kitchen will also provide some naturally delicious and wholesome vegan treats, all of which will be served in luxury dog bowls from PetsPyjamas.

Alongside will be something for humans and taking inspiration from its sister site Bluebird Chelsea’s much-loved afternoon tea, a three-tiered selection of Jam and cream fruit scones, Chocolate swiss roll, Carrot and citrus cupcakes, Cucumber and Smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches will be on offer.

To make it pooch perfect, every furry friend will receive a complimentary summer goodie bag from PetsPyjamas with a travel water bowl, yummy treats, toy and doggy essentials when dining on the ‘Pup of Tea’ menu.

The new afternoon tea (£21.50) will run for six weeks and will be in support of Wild at Heart Foundation; a charity that supports animal welfare projects, particularly dog rescue, adoption and rehoming. Bluebird Café will add a discretionary £1 donation to all ‘Pup of Tea’ bills.

Guaranteed to have guests’ tails wagging (including the dog’s!), London’s prolific Pet Inspectors Heidi & Rufus have officially given their ‘paw of approval’ to the tea. In their role as Top Dog reviewers for PetsPyjamas, The Norfolk Terrier duo have clocked up their paw miles as seasoned travellers, tasked to review the nation’s holiday properties and put them to the dog-friendly test. In this case, ‘A Pup of tea’ meets the standard of excellence!
