Warrens Bakery opens 20th franchised site & plans 750 in next 5 years

Warrens Bakery has opened a new outlet in Ashford serving up the chain's award-winning traditional bakes.

The new bakery, which is located in the centre of County Square Shopping Centre, has created eight jobs, and comes on the back of new openings Kingston-upon-Thames in July, Wembley in May, and and Merthyr Tydfil in April.

Opening in partnership with local businessman Slawomir Szulc, the store showcases the range of artisan breads, iconic pasties, freshly made sandwiches, sweet treats and speciality Cornish delicacies.

It also offers on-the-go snacks for shoppers, hot and cold drinks and meal ranges, as well as somewhere comfortable to sit down and relax in the square.

Established in 1860 and with a rich heritage and array of sweet and savoury bakes, Warrens is the oldest bakery in Cornwall and recognised as the World’s oldest Cornish pasty maker.

The Ashford store is the 20th franchise store to open across Britain and the first in Kent. Since opening the first franchised bakery last year, the company has experienced rapid growth and now plans to open 750 new bakeries in the next five years.

The bakery group currently has over 80 of its own stores across the UK.
