Talbot Hotel reopens after £4m refurb

The refurbished Talbot Hotel in Malton has just opened its doors after undergoing a £4 million face-lift. Restored to its former 17th century glory by the Fitzwilliam Estate, the brand new interior features 26 individually decorated bedrooms, including two suites.

The hotel is working with celebrity chef James Martin to create a first-rate reputation with local cuisine. The Malton-born TV chef is keen to build upon Malton’s growing reputation as a destination for foodies, and has drawn up a menu composed of all his favourite Yorkshire dishes; from Wakefield rhubarb to Whitby crab.
