Award-winning Shoreditch restaurant launches new menu

With the summer months in full swing, award-winning Plate restaurant in London's Shoreditch has launched its new seasonal summer menu.

The menu has been carefully designed by Arnaud Stevens, Plate’s owner and creative head chef, who has previously worked alongside Pierre Koffmann, Gordon Ramsay and Tom Aitken.

To start with the ‘Slow cooked Cornish mackerel with a celeriac & crab remoulade with mustard emulsion’ offers light yet interesting flavours for the summer months. Alternatively, the ‘Confit ham hock terrine with pickled onion, smoked egg yolk puree with Plate brioche loaf (one of Arnaud’s signatures) is not to be missed for those looking for something heartier.

For main dishes there's Confit Dingley Dell pork belly with fresh broccoli, borlotti beans and a light pork jus, which marries well with one of Plate’s expertly selected light red wines. Another option is Pearl barley risotto with shallot, chervil, artichoke and sourdough croutons; a dish that pairs perfectly with Steven’s extensive French white wine list.

Desserts include a summer signature of Strawberry & Cream Mille-Feuille with Szechuan pepper, strawberry and Thai basil sorbet, offering an interesting mix of traditional and nouveau flavours, There is also Chocolate Caramel Fondant with cardamon ice cream and salted almond praline.
