Incumbent caterers Compass Group and BaxterStorey have lost the contracts to provide catering for Barclays after a new global deal was struck with facilities management (FM) firm ISS.
The global contract, with a value estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of pounds, will see ISS manage the facilities management services and catering across Barclays operations in the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific and Americas.
The bank had originally launched a tier one tender process to determine which contractor would look after its FM needs, but it is understood that a decision was taken at the 11th hour to include the catering services as part of the deal.
