Scottish Government to fund £20m hospital offices for NHS staff

Scottish Government is to fund the development of a new £20m office block at the Southern General hospital site in Glasgow, in order to centralise about 1,200 NHS administration staff.

The new office block will provide some 1,200 workspaces for clinical and administrative staff transferring to the new campus from the Western Infirmary, Victoria Infirmary, parts of the existing Southern General and Yorkhill Hospital which will all close following the transfer of services to the New South Glasgow Hospitals campus in 2015.

When the new hospitals open in 2015 it will complete a package of investment of some £2.5 billion over the past 10 years in new and refurbished hospital and community healthcare facilities for NHSGGC.
