Taco Bell plans new Leeds site


US Mexican-themed brand, Taco Bell is planning to open at St John Centre in Leeds, creating 40 jobs.

Taco Bell will join the other food and beverage offers at the shopping complex including McDonald's, De Nicos, Stampede, Subway and Pound Bakery.

The Yum!-owned company, which launched its first UK site in Essex in 2010, currently operates 13 outlets in the UK, including Manchester and Sheffield.

Taco Bell offers a range of tacos (famously for £1), burritos, quesadillas, nachos and number of vegetarian options including the 7 layer burrito, Bean Burrito and Cheese Quesadilla.

Around the world Taco Bell serves more than 2 billion customers each year in 7,000 restaurants, more than 80% of which are owned and operated by independent franchisees and licensees.

Taco Bell was founded in 1946 by Glen Bell, who originally worked from a hot dog stand called Bell's Drive-In.
