Maitre Choux to open second London site

The world’s first choux pastry specialist patisserie, South Kensington-based Maitre Choux, has sold out almost every single day since it opened two years ago, and is set to open its second site in Soho.

Joakim Prat, the three Michelin star-experienced chef behind Maitre Choux, will be launching the new site on Dean Street this October.

A larger site than South Kensington, Maitre Choux Soho will also have a more spacious seating area, allowing additional guests to accompany their confection with a cup of the finest quality tea and coffee, or a thick hot chocolate made from a legendary Basque recipe provided by Prat’s grandmother.

Maitre Choux Soho will offer the same core range of hand-crafted, decadent, one-of-a-kind designs featuring show-stopping eclairs like lemon meringue & bergamot, Spanish raspberry and hazelnut & milk chocolate treasure, as well as regularly changing specials. Chouquettes (empty choux pastry balls topped with pearl sugar) lovers will be expected to follow the scent of freshly baked trays to the shop to get their hands on the warm batches baked on site every hour.

These are complemented by regularly changing specials; the perfect showcase for Joakim’s incredible creativity, these eclairs have commemorated occasions as diverse as Pride in London, Wimbledon and the Paris-Brest-Paris bicycle race.

Bringing a contemporary twist to a classic French specialty, these visually stunning works of art, freshly baked and decorated each day, make the perfect dessert, indulgent snack or gift.

As with South Kensington, orders will also be taken for bespoke designs, both corporate and private.
