Travelodge to open 11 new hotels in Essex

Travelodge has announced plans to open 11 new hotels in Essex, which will boost the brand's presence in the county to 25 sites.

The budget hotel operator's expansion represents an investment value of roughly £88m for third party investors.

The news comes as Travelodge has just opened its second hotel in Romford above the Quadrant Shopping Centre, a 65-bed site and the brand's 548th.

The company opened its first hotel in Essex in 1986 in Brentwood.
