Shoryu Ramen to open 11th & 12th sites in next two months

Shoryu Ramen is to open its 11th restaurant in London's Shoreditch, this September, and will then open a 12th outlet Oxford in the new Westgate Centre in October.

The 40-cover Shoreditch site will be situated on Great Eastern Street, and will feature counter bars, high tables and a ramen bar where diners can watch the chefs at work.

Shoryu Ramen, which offers a menu of Hakata tonkotsu ramen, Shoryu buns, cocktails and sake, was founded by Japan Centre chief executive, Tak Tokumine.

In February, Tokumine sold a 40% stake in the business to Toridoll Holdings Corporation for £7m with a view to using the funds to speed up the roll out of the brand.

Shoryu Ramen currently operates 9 UK sites, 8 of which are in London and one is in Manchester. Beyond the UK, the brand has a ramen bar in Fukuoka, Japan.
