The Alchemist invests £1.5m in new Oxford bar

The Alchemist is to create 75 jobs at a new bar due to open at the £440m Westgate Centre in Oxford on 24 October.

The company has invested £1.5m in the new 4,600 sq ft venue, which will be open for morning coffee, lunch and dinner. Dishes include burgers, tacos, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, as wells as main plates of ramen, jerk chicken, nori blackened salmon, katsu chicken curry.

The carefully crafted drinks menu ensures a lively atmosphere late into the night with an impressive cocktail selection. The utmost care is taken in sourcing and using the finest ingredients, and molecular drinks-making techniques are used.

Simon Potts, managing director of The Alchemist, said, “We are delighted to be opening our 12th venue in the beautiful city of Oxford as we continue our busy acquisition drive - which has seen three openings over the last three months. People are at our core, which is why we offer extensive training, genuine care and clear progression for everyone who works with us.'

The chain, which has 11 other outlets, has been named as a Sunday Times Best Company to Work For brand.
