Edinburgh Boutique hotel changes hands

24 Royal Terrace, a 16 bedroom boutique, luxury hotel in Edinburgh’s city centre, has been sold through Christie & Co to a private company.

The specialist business property adviser had previously sold the Georgian townhouse and former guesthouse in 2014, and after a substantial re-fit, the hotel opened as 24 Royal Terrace in 2015.

Stuart Drysdale, Associate Director at Christie & Co’s Edinburgh’s office who handled the sale, commented, “The hotel was openly marketed and immediately gathered strong interest from a variety of private operators, as well as investors.

'After various points of interest and multiple viewings, a closing date was set for best offers. The market for hospitality businesses in the city remains buoyant, and we have a wide range of requirements from active buyers in the hotel sector.”
