Third Chick n Sours to open in Islington


Originally planned to be a CHIK'N site opening on Upper Street in Islington, it now is to soft launch on 24 September as the third Chick 'n' Sours, offering fried chicken and sour cocktails.

The Chicken toast, which was introduced on the new Haggerston menu, will be served up at the new site too. The toast is dressed with chilli fish sauce caramel and a ‘slaw of kohlrabi & lime kosho.

Other new dishes will include the Seoul Destroyer - a Korean glazed burger that's made with roast chicken fat, topped with nacho cheese & kimchi, and Chilli Fish Sauce Caramel Wings with tamarind, palm sugar, fish sauce, chilli.

The Weekend Treats menu offers Hot Chicken & Kimchi Cornbread Waffles served with fried eggs. The kimchi cornbread waffle is covered in honey butter and served with a 'noodle crack' drumstick. The crack seasoning is mixed with hot sauce and chicken fat, then the drumstick is glazed and rolled in Korean chilli flakes.

Also for the weekend, PBJ French Toast, a toasted brioche bread, Malaysian coconut curd, peanut butter, with a sauce of dulce de leche and toasted coconut.

Also, there's a new side dish - Crack fries & Shin Cup fries, that's the Shin Cup noodle seasoning slathered with sriracha sour cream, chillies & spring onions.

The new Islington restaurant will join sister sites in Seven Dials, WC2, and Haggerston in the East End.

The brand launched its first permanent site in April 2015.
