A popular cafe and licensed restaurant in the thriving coastal town of Oban in Argyll and Bute, formerly known as Kitchen Garden, has been sold to an experienced operator through Christie & Co.
Having previously traded as a delicatessen and cafe for the past 25 years, Kitchen Garden maintained a favourable reputation.
Now new owner, Paul Sloan plans to bring an exciting new concept into the space and commented, “We are very excited about this site, it's our first of this concept we are opening, and thanks to Christie & Co, Gelatoburger will open before Easter as the first full gelateria and 100-seater burger bar combination.”
The site occupies a prominent trading position on the popular George Street and sits directly across from the main harbour, benefitting from high levels of footfall throughout the year. The spacious main trading area comprises two rooms on the ground floor and the mezzanine level, which previously served as the café and bistro, also benefits from its own kitchen, store room and office.
Josh Hill, Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale, commented, “After running a bespoke marketing process for the landlord, we identified a high number of potential new tenants, including national brands and single unit operators, early on. After reviewing all of our options, we were delighted to strike a deal with the new tenant who has a vast amount of experience in the casual dining sector.”
