Hertfordshire's Manor Hotel Elstree, formerly the Laura Ashley Manor Hotel, has been acquired by Countrywide Hotels.

The Tudor house, which dates back to 1540, offers 49 bedrooms, and the AA rosette Cavendish Restaurant and Terrace Bar with views towards London.

Set in 10 acres of gardens and natural woodland, the hotel also features six meeting and training rooms, with a maximum capacity of 80 guests.

Darren Patt, managing director, Countrywide Hotels, said, “We are delighted to have acquired The Manor Elstree which is a beautiful hotel in a great location, and we look forward to developing the hotel and growing the business further.”

The new acquisition brings the group's portfolio to 12 hotels.
