G1 to open £10m hotel on former hospital site

An iconic hospital complex in Aberdeen, Woolmanhill Hospital, is to become a 52-bed luxury hotel owned and operated by G1 Group, under the Scotsman brand.

Developer CAF Properties, that bought the site from NHS Grampian, has just received full planning and listed building consent, so the £10m transformation can begin.

Glasgow-based hospitality firm, G1 will not only operate and own the hotel but also 27 serviced apartments. The scheme additionally includes 42 apartments.

The planned hotel will feature a bar, restaurant, jazz club and cinema club experience.

There will also be a range of function areas for weddings and private functions, which will have the exclusive use of a fully refurbished Central Courtyard to the North with a garden area to the South.
