New exec chef for Michelin-starred City Social

Tomas Lidakevicius has been appointed as executive chef of Jason Atherton's Michelin-starred restaurant, City Social.

Originally from Lithuania, Lidakevicius moved to London in 2008 and has since worked in a number of the capital’s finest establishments including Galvin at Windows, Corrigan’s Mayfair and Texture.

Lidakevicius was a key member of the City Social team when it launched in 2014, before leaving to gain further experience at The Northall at The Corinthia Hotel, followed by the Peninsula Restaurant at InterContinental London where, under his leadership, the restaurant achieved 3 AA Rosettes and featured in the Michelin guide.

Lidakevicius’ appointment follows the news of Paul Walsh’s departure, who launched and led City Social for five years and won the restaurant Michelin-starred status within seven months of opening.

This summer, Walsh will take on the role of executive chef at Atherton’s latest venture, The Betterment opening at The Biltmore, Mayfair.

Tomas aims to maintain the restaurant’s commitment to serving contemporary British cuisine with unparalled views of the London skyline.
