The General Manager of Barrow in Furness’s newest hotel has kicked off the search for more than 30 new team members.
Mark Winter (pictured), who was appointed as General Manager this summer, is looking to fill a range of roles in time for the opening of Holiday Inn Express Barrow in Furness in December.
Full and part time positions across food and beverage, guest services, reception, finance, reservations, operations and commercial have been posted online and locals are encouraged to apply – from those looking to take the first steps in a career in hospitality to the most experienced hoteliers.
Those who apply will be whittled down and invited to a completely bespoke ‘Greatest Show’ themed recruitment event on Thursday 19 September where they will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and abilities.
The successful candidates will be in-post in time to open the doors of the 127-bedroom hotel and restaurant to guests later this year.
Winter said, “I’m very excited to officially launch the recruitment drive for the new property – yet another major milestone that takes us a step closer to our big opening later this year.
“We have a range of opportunities available that are perfect for those from the local area, whether they have worked in hospitality previously or are eager to get their foot on the career ladder by gaining some valuable experience.
“I am sure we’ll have a difficult job in narrowing down the applications in the run up to our event in September. I’m eager to get to work on shaping the team that will deliver a truly first-class service to our guests when we open our doors this winter.”
