The people behind Park Chinois, the luxury Chinese restaurant in Mayfair, have opened a new brasserie just around the corner, offering 'cosmopolitan tastes of the capital'.
The name of the new venue is taken from Christopher Moncks, the owner of Clarendon Estate in the 16th century, which included Dover Street, Bond Street and Albemarle Street.
Moncks of Dover Street, which is open daily from early morning to late evening, is headed up by Park Chinois' Executive Chef Gennaro Vitto and Head Chef Valentino Pepe.
Diners can enjoy a breakfast or brunch of Truffled Benedict - artichoke and black truffle, organic poached eggs, hollandaise sauce on English muffin, or The Full Vegan which comes completes with vegan 'fried eggs', avocado, hash browns, black morning quinoa, grilled asparagus with toasted sourdough.
These can be washed down with fresh juices and smoothies such as Passion Hit - pineapple, passion fruit, guava & apple juice, and Berry Smooth - blueberry, raspberry & peach.
Main brasserie dishes include Butternut squash & ricotta ravioli - toasted cashews, crispy sage, parmigiano reggiano, Roasted baby leg of lamb with spiced couscous, sautéed shallots, apricots & pomegranates, and Pan-fried monkfish with seafood jus, seasonal vegetables & gremolata.
There is also a selection of salads, burgers and grilled meat and fish options.
Classic desserts include Vanilla & lemon baked cheesecake & rhubarb compote, and Coconut ice cream with roasted peaches, coconut crumb & apricot compote.
