Hampden Park appoints new Head Chef

Sodexo, the catering and hospitality partner at Hampden Park, has added to its culinary team with the appointment of Colin Dempsey as Head Chef at the Glasgow stadium venue.

Dempsey will run the Hampden Park kitchen, with a team of up to forty on match days, using his wealth of kitchen experience to further enhance the food and catering offering at Scotland’s National Stadium.

With over fifteen years’ working in and running various venues around Scotland, Dempsey has developed a strong combination of culinary and management skills. Having worked his way up the ranks throughout the years, he joins Hampden from his previous position as Executive Chef at New College in Lanarkshire. Not a stranger to the stadium environment, his previous roles also include a senior chef position at Rangers Football Club.

Together with a love of food and passion for fresh produce, Dempsey will bring a wealth of industry knowledge to his new role at Hampden, leading the team as they continue on their path of success.

Craig Younger, General Manager for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events at Hampden Park said, “I’m delighted to welcome Colin to the team at Hampden and the wider Sodexo family. With this key appointment in place, we are in a great position to strengthen our food offering at the venue and continue to deliver unforgettable experiences for guests.”

Dempsey said, “I’m excited to embark on this adventure with a great new team behind me. This is a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to putting my stamp on things here at Hampden.

'My experience in the industry will help us to provide the best possible service for visitors to the stadium, and continue the growth of the venue.”
